Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural (SMSC) Development

At Jackfield Infant School we believe in a holistic education, experience and curriculum to ensure that our pupils develop spiritually, morally, socially and culturally. We achieve this through the teaching of the fundamental British values of democracy, rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of others with different faiths. We encourage and nurture our children to value themselves and others, have a positive and caring attitude, develop a moral code, recognise right from wrong, resolve conflicts, explore and respect the diverse richness of different faiths, cultures and beliefs and to understand how communities function. These qualities will allow our children to participate fully in life in Modern Britain.
